Yea A Levels are harder, I self studied Calc BC AP, and history AP, I took A levels further maths but not A level history. It is up to you however i would take hl math because it allows you to get into colleges overseas. In maths, the difference is a lot more diverse. The calculus AB test is very general differentiation and integration. It didn't really have anything that complex to integrate or differentiate.
